Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@btau.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

BTA is Australia’s only Registered Training Organisation dedicated solely to the boarding school sector. Every course is designed around real residential contexts — focusing on student care, safety, communication, and wellbeing. Our trainers are experienced boarding professionals who understand the rhythms, relationships, and responsibilities of boarding life.

All courses are designed for flexibility. Participants can learn online, face-to-face, or through blended delivery, making it easy for schools to schedule professional learning around shift work and term routines. The Certificate IV and Diploma are now available in 3–6 month modules, enabling a continuous learning framework that fits school and staff needs.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal process that allows you to gain credit for the skills and experience you’ve already developed in boarding or similar care environments.

If you’ve worked in a boarding school, residential program, or youth or community service role, you may already meet some of the learning outcomes for certain units. Through RPL, you can provide evidence such as references, work records, certificates, or examples of practice, which our assessors review against national standards.
